Security Clearance Planner
Match the clearance color on a real door to your current hacking device and find the next upgrade you actually need.
Red Clearance · Security Sector
Upgrade required
Required device: Keypad Hacker (Tier 4)
Unlock Tier 4 by reading the "Clean it up!" email attachment or talking to Celine Ahmed.
Choose the level displayed by the actual keypad or scanner. Sector names are context, not a claim that every door in that sector has the same clearance. Black Level 7 describes an area. Its hackable scanners are Level 6 and use the Gatekey (Tier 6), not a fictional Tier 7 device.
How the decision works
Blue through yellow clearances use the basic Keypad Hacker and its Tier 2–5 upgrades. Green Level 6 scanners require the Gatekey (Tier 6). Black Level 7 is an area designation at WG-INTRADOS; the associated hackable scanners are Level 6, not a separate Tier 7 device. A device can open its own tier and lower-level access points. First read the actual keypad or scanner; do not infer its level only from the sector.
Worked example
The default example has a Tier 3 Hacker and faces a red Level 4 access point. The tool reports Tier 4 as required. If its recipe is still locked, the reviewed Tier 4 source lists the “Clean it up!” email attachment or a conversation with Celine Ahmed as unlock routes.
What this planner does not calculate
It does not invent recipes or material costs for devices whose component lists have not been verified. It does not assume every door in Manufacturing, Security, or Reactors uses the sector's typical level, and it does not replace other story prerequisites for reaching that door.
Version and sources
Clearance mappings and Tier 4 unlock text were checked against the current game Wiki for version 1.4. Recheck a changed door after any progression patch.
