The Problem

I am always out of medkits. Someone said Rise is good for farming (see farming guide) healing items?

The Solution

Rise is the most reliable renewable Medkit source in Abiotic Factor. Once unlocked, it turns healing items from a finite resource you hoard into a farmable commodity you restock on cooldown.

Unlocking Rise Rise is accessed through the Adjustment Wing of Cascade Labs. The entrance is blocked by red webbing — burn it away. Inside, there is a laser reflector puzzle (mirrors, beams, angles) that opens the portal to Rise. The intended solution involves positioning reflectors to redirect beams onto targets. However, there is a widely known shortcut: shoot the purple orb with an Energy Pistol. One shot skips the entire puzzle. If you have not crafted an Energy Pistol yet, solving the puzzle manually is the only option — but after the first time, the portal stays unlocked and the shortcut becomes irrelevant for repeat visits.

The Farming Loop Portal Worlds reset on a timer. Every reset restocks all containers and items inside Rise. The loop:

1. Enter Rise through the portal.
2. Loot every wall Medkit, medical cabinet, and healing item in the zone.
3. Exit through the return portal (do not wander — the return portal is your exit).
4. Deposit Medkits at base in a dedicated Medical Crate near your Healing Briefcase (see healing guide).
5. Wait for the portal reset timer. Repeat.

Inventory Management Rise Medkits stack, but they still consume inventory slots. Enter Rise with a nearly empty inventory. Wear your best backpack — Military Pack (+12 slots, 20% weight reduction) or Hiking Pack (+18 slots, 42% weight reduction). Leave weapons, extra armor, and non-essential tools at base. You are here to loot and extract, not to fight. A single weapon for self-defense is enough.

What Rise Contains

• Wall Medkits — the primary target. Multiple spawn points throughout the zone.
• Medical cabinets with Bandages, Splints, and occasionally Iodine Tablets (-10 rad, 50% radiation resist for 15 minutes).
• A Keystone member corpse with lore — one-time pickup, not farmable.
• General Portal World loot (minor materials) — skip these. Medkits are the reason you came.

Energy Pistol Crafting If you do not have an Energy Pistol when you reach the laser puzzle, craft one before attempting the puzzle. The materials are mid-game accessible, and the pistol serves double duty as a puzzle shortcut tool and a combat weapon. Crafting it once saves hours of puzzle repetition across multiple visits.

Paired Farming Routes Rise is best run as part of a portal rotation. When Rise is on reset cooldown, run Train World for Steel Cable (see Steel Cable farming). When Train World is on cooldown, run Flathill for Power Cells. Rotating portals means you are always farming something, never waiting idle.

Step-by-Step

1. Reach the Adjustment Wing in Cascade Labs. Burn the red webbing at the entrance.
2. Craft an Energy Pistol before approaching the laser puzzle if you do not have one.
3. Shoot the purple orb with the Energy Pistol to skip the laser reflector puzzle. If no pistol, solve the beam alignment manually.
4. Enter the Rise portal with a nearly empty inventory and your best backpack.
5. Loot every Medkit and medical supply. Ignore minor materials — Medkits are the priority.
6. Exit through the return portal immediately when inventory is full.
7. Deposit all Medkits in a Medical Crate at base near your Healing Briefcase.
8. Rotate Rise with other portal farms (Train World, Flathill) during reset cooldowns.

Common Mistakes

• Solving the laser puzzle manually every visit — the Energy Pistol shortcut works on all subsequent trips.
• Entering Rise with a half-full inventory and leaving Medkits behind because you brought extra gear.
• Wandering Rise for minor loot after Medkits are collected — the return portal is there; extract and deposit.
• Waiting at base for Rise to reset instead of rotating to another portal farm during the cooldown.
