Lab Sector Chemistry Rush Route
Optimized loot route through the Lab Sector for chemistry materials — Enethiol, Solvent, Biogel, and Hydrochloric Acid locations with timing benchmarks.

The Problem
You unlocked a chemistry recipe that needs Enethiol, Solvent, or Biogel, and you have no idea where to find them. The Lab Sector is a maze of corridors and you keep hitting dead ends or running into enemies with nothing to show for it.
The Solution
Chemistry materials spawn in specific rooms and containers within the Lab Sector. This route hits all major spawn points in a clockwise loop that takes 8-12 minutes and yields 6-15 chemistry items per run depending on spawn RNG.
Target Materials and Spawn Locations
| Material | Container Type | Rooms | Spawn Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enethiol | Chemistry cabinet (green) | Chem Lab A, Chem Lab B | ~40% per cabinet |
| Solvent | Chemistry cabinet, floor loot | Chem Lab A, Storage Room 3 | ~50% per cabinet |
| Biogel | Bio cabinet (blue) | Bio Lab, Specimen Storage | ~35% per cabinet |
| Hydrochloric Acid | Chemistry cabinet | Chem Lab B, Hazmat Storage | ~30% per cabinet |
| Test Tubes | Any lab table | Every lab room | ~60% per table |
| Salt | Floor loot, supply shelves | Break room, Storage Room 1 | ~70% per shelf |
The Route (Clockwise Loop)
Follow this exact path. Room names match the labels on in-game door signs.
Stop 1: Lab Entrance → Chem Lab A (0:00 - 2:00)
From the Lab Sector main entrance, take the first left corridor. Chem Lab A is the second door on the right. Check all three chemistry cabinets (green-labeled shelves along the back wall) and the two lab tables.
Expected loot: 1-3 Enethiol, 1-2 Solvent, 2-3 Test Tubes
Stop 2: Chem Lab A → Storage Room 3 (2:00 - 3:30)
Exit Chem Lab A, continue down the corridor past the water fountain. Storage Room 3 is the door at the end of the hall. Two supply shelves and one chemistry cabinet.
Expected loot: 1-2 Solvent, 0-1 Enethiol
Stop 3: Storage Room 3 → Bio Lab (3:30 - 5:30)
Backtrack to the main corridor, take the elevator down one floor. Bio Lab is directly ahead. Blue cabinets hold Biogel. Two bio cabinets and one specimen container.
Expected loot: 1-3 Biogel, 1-2 Bio Scrap
Stop 4: Bio Lab → Specimen Storage (5:30 - 7:00)
Connected room to Bio Lab through the glass door. Four specimen containers (large freezer-style units). Also contains rare Bio materials.
Expected loot: 1-2 Biogel, 0-1 Anomalous samples
Stop 5: Specimen Storage → Chem Lab B (7:00 - 9:00)
Exit Specimen Storage, take the stairs up. Chem Lab B is on the right past the security checkpoint. Three chemistry cabinets plus a Hazmat Storage closet inside the room.
Expected loot: 1-2 Enethiol, 1-2 Hydrochloric Acid, 1-2 Solvent
Stop 6: Chem Lab B → Exit (9:00 - 11:00)
From Chem Lab B, the corridor leads back toward the main entrance. Optionally check the break room on the way for Salt and food items.
Expected loot from break room: 2-3 Salt, 1-2 food items
Total Route Summary
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Total time | 8-12 minutes |
| Rooms visited | 6 |
| Chemistry items per run | 6-15 |
| Enemies encountered | 3-5 (avoidable with stealth) |
| Recommended gear | Energy Pistol, 3 Healing Syringes, light armor |
Enemy Management
The Lab Sector has moderate enemy density. On this route you will encounter:
| Location | Enemy | Count | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corridor to Chem Lab A | Pest creatures | 1-2 | Kill with melee, not worth ammo |
| Bio Lab | Lab Specimen (hostile) | 1 | Sneak past or 3 Energy Pistol shots |
| Chem Lab B approach | Security Bot | 1 | Avoidable if you crouch past the sensor |
| Random corridor patrol | Order Soldier | 0-1 | Avoid; fight only if cornered |
The Security Bot near Chem Lab B has a sensor cone covering the hallway. Crouch against the left wall to pass without triggering it. If triggered, it has 200 HP and hits hard — better to run past it into Chem Lab B and close the door.
Radiation Zones
Two rooms on this route have light radiation:
| Room | Radiation Level | Duration | Protection Needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chem Lab B | 0.5 rads/s | 2 minutes of looting | None needed — 60 rads max, under warning |
| Hazmat Storage (inside Chem Lab B) | 1.5 rads/s | 30 seconds | Hazmat helmet recommended (+15% resist) |
If you have no rad protection, skip the Hazmat Storage closet. The 1-2 extra Hydrochloric Acid is not worth hitting the 50-rad warning threshold.
Respawn Timing
Lab Sector loot containers respawn every 15-20 real-time minutes. If you are farming chemistry materials:
- Run the route (10 min)
- Return to base, craft what you need (5 min)
- Run the route again (10 min)
Two runs per hour is sustainable. Three runs per hour means some containers will be empty on the second pass.
Inventory Management on the Route
Chemistry materials stack poorly. Most cap at 5 per slot. Plan your inventory before the run starts.
| Material | Stack Size | Slots Needed per Run |
|---|---|---|
| Enethiol | 5 | 1-2 slots |
| Solvent | 5 | 1-2 slots |
| Biogel | 3 | 1-2 slots |
| Hydrochloric Acid | 3 | 1 slot |
| Test Tubes | 10 | 1 slot |
| Salt | 10 | 1 slot |
A full run can fill 6-8 inventory slots. Keep at least 8 slots empty before starting. Drop or stash food, spare weapons, and non-essential items at the Lab Sector entrance. You can pick them up on the way out.
If your backpack is nearly full after Stop 4, skip the optional break room at Stop 6. The Salt and food are low-priority compared to losing chemistry materials because you had no room.
Route Variants by Target Material
Not every run needs all 6 stops. If you only need one specific material, use a shortened route.
| Target Material | Stops to Hit | Time | Expected Yield |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enethiol only | Stop 1, Stop 5 | 5-6 min | 2-5 Enethiol |
| Solvent only | Stop 1, Stop 2 | 3-4 min | 2-4 Solvent |
| Biogel only | Stop 3, Stop 4 | 4-5 min | 2-5 Biogel |
| Hydrochloric Acid only | Stop 5 | 3 min | 1-2 Acid |
| Full chemistry restock | All 6 stops | 8-12 min | 6-15 mixed |
Shortened routes reduce enemy encounters and radiation exposure. If you only need Solvent for a specific recipe, running Stops 1-2 and leaving takes under 4 minutes with almost no risk.
Common Mistakes
| Mistake | Why It Happens | How to Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Searching wrong room types | All lab rooms look similar | Chemistry cabinets are green-labeled; Bio cabinets are blue |
| Fighting every enemy | Combat instinct | Skip or sneak past — time spent fighting is time not looting |
| Ignoring break room | Thinks only labs have materials | Break room has Salt, which many chemistry recipes need |
| Running route too frequently | Impatient | Wait 15-20 min between runs for respawns |
| No radiation awareness | Did not check rad level | Watch the rad counter near Chem Lab B |
