Portal world resource comparison: what to farm and where

Side-by-side table comparing all portal worlds in Abiotic Factor. Shows unique resources, hazard level, reset schedule, and exit buffs for each world.

Portal world resource comparison: what to farm and where

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Exit route

This site-generated diagram summarizes the decision flow used by the guide. It is an original planning aid, not copied game or wiki media.

Portal worlds reset twice per week — at midnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, and again between Saturday and Sunday (wiki source). Everything inside respawns: resources, enemies, containers. The reset does not affect player-placed items, so staging areas inside portal worlds persist through resets.

This page tells you which world to visit for the resource you need, how dangerous it is, and what you get as an exit bonus.

Detailed breakdown by world

Far Garden — starter world

Far Garden: Low risk, short run, radiation hazardUnlockOffice Sector (2F)HazardExors + radiationTime3-5 minutesRiskLOW

Resources:

  • Raw Exor Heart (kill Exors)
  • Raw Alien Drumstick (kill Exors)
  • Anteverse Wheat
  • Antelight Seed (rare, from scrapping Anteverse Wheat)
  • Geiger Counter
  • Forklift Replica Collectible

Gear needed: Hazmat Suit (radiation protection)

Exit buff: Hygroscopic — thirst drains slower for a while.

Flathill — the Power Cell farm

Flathill: High risk, essential for Power CellsUnlockKeypad HackerHazardComposers (unkillable)Time10-20 minutesRiskHIGH

Key resources:

  • Power Cell (multiple per run — essential for batteries and crafting)
  • Tomato Seed, Salt, Canned Peas
  • Enethiol, Hydrochloric Acid
  • Tech Scrap, Circuit Board, Military M.R.E.
  • 9mm Ammo, Box of Screws, Coil
  • Composer Figurine Collectible

Gear needed: Stealth approach (Composers are invulnerable). Weapons for Symphonists (spawn after first completion).

Exit buff: Fog Brain — stamina drains at a slower rate.

Why you keep coming back: Power Cells. You need them for batteries, advanced crafting, and many key recipes. Available each reset cycle, twice a week.

The Train — Rebar and military loot

The Train: Medium risk, best Rebar sourceUnlockTram Key (Blacksmith)HazardOrder Soldiers (armed)Time10-15 minutesRiskMEDIUM

Key resources:

  • Rebar (multiple per run — primary renewable source, also found in Manufacturing Wood Crates)
  • Steel Cable
  • Silver, Pocket Watch → Exquisite Chain, Tiny Gears
  • Grinder Disc
  • .357 Magnum Ammo, 9mm Ammo (from soldiers)
  • Military Electronics, Military M.R.E., Military Pack
  • Talagi Magnum, Montese SMG (weapon drops from soldiers)
  • Frag Grenade (rare, from soldiers)
  • Chain, Anvil

Gear needed: Ranged weapon + ammo. Soldiers are armored but manageable in pairs.

Exit buff: Steam Powered — movement speed boost.

Why you keep coming back: Rebar is the bottleneck material for Grinder repairs and many endgame recipes. Also the only reliable source of .357 ammo.

Canaan — high-risk, unique materials

Canaan: Very high risk, large world with unique resourcesUnlockSnag Vine + Night EssenceHazardDozens of villagersTime20-40 minutesRiskVERY HIGH

Common Mistakes

MistakeWhy it happensHow to avoid
Entering Canaan without Personal TeleporterDidn't read that there's no entrance return portalAlways bring synced, charged teleporter
Missing portal reset while insideDidn't know being inside blocks the resetExit before midnight on Tue and Sat
Going to Far Garden for RebarMixing up portal resourcesRebar = The Train, not Far Garden
Fighting Composers in FlathillAssume everything can be killedComposers are invulnerable — stealth only
Entering Canaan with only meleeUnderestimate villager numbersYou face many hostiles — bring ranged weapon with plenty of ammo
